Make your voice heard: Vote Absentee
September 14, 2008
Voting is an important way we all make our voices heard. If you are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, you may qualify to vote by absentee ballot. You are eligible for an absentee ballot if any of the following criteria apply to you:
- You are 60 years of age or older.
- You are physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another.
- You cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of your religion.
- You have been appointed an election precinct inspector in a precinct other than the precinct where you reside.
- You cannot attend the polls because you are confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial.
- You expect to be absent from the community in which you are registered for the entire time the polls are open during election day.
To vote absentee, simply click the graphic above to download an absentee ballot application. Fill out the application and return it to your clerk, who will then mail you your ballot. Remember, your ballot must be returned to your clerk by the close of polls on Election Day.
