Marc Corriveau: Biography

Born and raised in Western Wayne County, State Representative Marc Corriveau has deep roots in our community and a deep understanding of who we are as a community.

Marc is serving his first term in the Michigan House of Representatives, where he has been an independent voice for our community. Committed to fighting for change to move Michigan forward, Marc has proposed bold plans to stop the outsourcing of our workers’ jobs by offering incentives to companies that hire Michigan workers, streamline government spending by ending lifetime health care for lawmakers and cutting his own pay, and keep Canadian and out-of-state trash out of Michigan.

Marc has fought to ensure that our local schools have the funding they need to prepare our children for the good-paying jobs of the 21st century. He supported a plan to increase the number of dollars that are spent in the classroom to help ensure that our teachers have the resources they need to give our kids a top-notch education.

Marc is a diligent worker who knows how to get the job done. From working to decrease the cost of insurance to making health insurance more accessible to all, Marc consistently reaches across party lines to work with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. Through his hard work and service to our community, Marc is fighting to bring about the reforms Michigan needs to get back on track.

The call to service runs strong in Marc. He answered the call to serve his country when he joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1994. While on active duty Marc earned two Letters of Commendation and was recognized for his “outstanding achievement.” He served his country for seven years as a member of the Naval Reserve.

Faith also plays an important role in Marc’s life. Marc and his wife, Wendy, attend Our Lady of Victory Church in Northville with their children Luc, 8, and Eve, 6. Marc and his family live in Northville.

Marc earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a law degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. Before being elected to the Michigan House of Representatives he worked in a small family law practice.

Marc represents Northville, Northville Township, Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Canton Township and the city of Wayne in the Michigan House.
